The problem of this sport in this country is
1. lack of mid-sized affordable tracks (like WGH)
2. lack of TV coverage
3. prices (mondello)
Reasons from the above (from foreigner's perspective) - please note I'm not going to insult anyone, it's just my findings.
1. Type of society. People are really practical here and cars are meant to go from a to b and that's all, oh maybe to show off their '09D to the neighbours
2. Lack of motoring culture - seriously, most people don't know how to fix simpliest things. Cars are driven to death and without NCT. Ppl don't even bother to google stuff nor to buy tool kit. No wonder that when it comes to garage prices they are O.M.F.G. because they are gods then.
3. Size of the population which relates to the size of the market - nobody will make dedicated tv programme nor build the track for handful of people
4. Availability of machine shops and their prices - try to fabricate something and you'll know what I'm talking about.
5. Availability of consumables - try to find M81.25 bolt or nut, manifold studs etc etc
6. The most annoying one - that the houses are built without any space around never mind the garage so all work is done outdoors which is a pain in the ass as it takes forever to wait for good weather, take tools out, get mate to pull engine out and clean oil spills etc etc.
IMO it's gonna take many years till things change here. And they won't change until the society changes.
