    Default Exhaust + gaskets.

    97 180sx...
    cat back exhaust..
After I rev it, and the revs die back down there is a fluffy noise coming from under the car... i suspect gasket.. (not sure if its before or after cat area)

    Correct?

Best place to buy new gaskets.. i know it will have to be a genuine nissan gasket, but where is best place to get it?
I was up in nissan dealer there last week buying stuff, and Im not really sure how good they are price wise..

And which part of the exhaust system should i upgrade next?

As i can think of a few other bits and pieces that might be be more useful for the time being.. before i but mani's etc..

    Thanks.

Lad find out where the blowing is coming from first.

    Downpipe? Joint between cat?etc

Use a bit of news paper put it near the joints and get someone to rev the car
not too hard and see if it blows the paper easy way of finding out where its blowing from.
    Is it a standard exhaust?

Nissan gaskets are best to use. Not that expensive either
If it is an aftermarket downpipe you wont get that gasket off a dealer
as the standard pipe uses an O ring
You could just get exhaust paste or gum gum and fix it that way.

What mods are done to the exhaust so far cat, downpipe, etc
I would leave the standard manifold no need to change it unless you are heading upwards of 300bhp

As said, a bit of paper or tissue held near the joints in the system while someone revs the car is the handiest method for finding the leak. Just make sure its jacked up and secured on stands before climbing under there, and dont go putting the hands too close to the exhaust either...

If your car still has its CAT, you could just remove it, hollow it out (beat all the inners out of it) and then refit it for a bit more of a free flowing system at no extra cost...

Is this your own yoke? Track/road?
