wel lads as the heading says! are the 2.5 engine in a 323i e36 the same as a 325 2.5 e36??????

Nope, 323i is the M52 engine 325 is M50 engine, not much differences but I think M52 is OBD2 and the M50 is OBD1.
I'm putting an M52 in my e34 after the summer so I'll post up the wiring diagram for the swap when I get it running.
Oh and the intake mani is restrictive on the 323i engine a 325 one makes a bit more top end power on it
