    Default Japscrap ae86 repaint

So after a fairly successful day at Retrostock Mondello chris aka Japscrap pulled some class smoke and driftin for a newly built car on its first day out . Unfortunately hes rate of petrol used was quicker then he expected and the car ran outta of fuel mid drift ,causing him to go to the kitty litter which pulled the front bumper and left wing off the car early in the day.....

then later a tyre popped on the rightside rear cause the fibreglass righthand rear quarter panel serious damage. So chris went on hols friday last and was kinda talkin to miss the retrostock in june with all the work the car needed....so i thought while he was away meself and his friend paul aka DUDE would have a go at tubben the arches to save the bodykit from anymore tyres blowning up..... UNKNOWN TO CHRIS!!! AS A SUPPRIZE? As he stores the car in my garage it was the perfect plan.

So after the carlow rally last week i got home at 2.30am monday morn, went to work, helped oldskooler paint a white mk2 transit engine bay monday eve,got home 12.30 am.
Tuesday eve we pulled the twin cam apart

we had a job to find metal as the arches had work done before to allow the bigger wheels

    bodykit was cracked to shit

    the isopon was serious!!!!

WEDNESDAY 8PM AFTER WORK THE FUN BEGAN

HAD TO JIGSAW THE QUARTER TOGETHER USING THE GRAPHICS AS REFERENCE POINTS

STRENGHTEN THE BACK OF THE PANEL FIRST

TWAS LATE THURSDAY MORN WE FINISHED AND OFF TO WORK AT 8.30. Paul had 2 x 12 hour shift so he was done till saturday

Thrusday and Friday eve after 8.30 i done some plastering after throwing the car out to the other shed.

    Sprayed the tubs first

    THEN GOT PLASTERED

after a half day in work i got back to the garage at 3pm saturday and Paul arrived again to help and sand.....Chris was due in dublin airport at 5.30pm and i thought he might visit on way home which was worrying me with so much still to do and all by hand as the panels were so curved the sanders were useless.....

    STARTED PRIMER AT 7.30PM.......

8.30 AND ROLL OUT THE GREEN TWIN CAM COLOUR

10.30PM FINISHED AND NO SIGN OF CHRIS,SO I KNEW I HAD THE NIGHT TO LET PANELS DRY AND WOULD GET UP AT 8AM SUNDAY TO REFIT THEM

11AM SUNDAY MORN ALL WAS DONE,WELL EXCEPT FRONT BUMPER AS IT WAS DUST AND A NEW WAS ORDERED....

NARROW WHEELS ON REAR AS THE CAR IS TOO WIDE FOR THE TRAILER WIT REVOLUTIONS ON IT

TOLD CHRIS COME OUT AND HAVE A LOOK AT MY NEW DRIFT CAR.....HE WAS A HAPPY BOY ..........SO NOW RETROSTOCK JUNE LOOKS GUD AGAIN

The only pic that is missing here is the look on my face when i walked into the shed and seen the car. I dont know where to start to say thanks to the 2 lads i will have to let ye ride my sister or something lol... The wife used to think the drift gang was like the Jehovah's Witness gang but now she thinks we are a complete breed of our own. Just to the 2 lads thank ye so much
