    Default Blacktop SR

how can i tell which blacktop i have in my 180sx?
the chasis was origionally (sr20de), and its obviously been swapped for a (sr20det)
i was told that the oil filters are very similar but slightly different, so instead of making a mistake, i want to ensure i know what engine it is.
when i look at the front it does not have a VVT lump.

is there anyway of knowing what it is? or would all 180sx blacktops be the same?

    Thanks.

all black top 180sx are the same!, the S14 and s15 have the vvti lump at the front, and the back of the rocker cover dips down!

Also the inlet manifolds are different!

Most motor factors(if thats were you are getting your filter) won't know how to find a listing for a 180sx.

    For a non vvt sr20 ask them for a sunny/pulsar gti-r filter.

ok well i think ill be getting the filter off someone who knows what they are at, and if not a friend works for nissan.

if not, where's the easiest/best place to pick up everything needed for a good service?
