    I found the same on my cossie when I fitted Federals, they began to rub. It seems that Federals are just that bit wider then other brands, however personally I prefer the tyre to be slightly wider, gives a bit of extra protection to the alloy.

    Camber actually only plays a very small part in tyre wear.

    Toe is the biggest contributor to tyre wear as the tyres are trying to rotate away from the car (toe-out) or in towards the car (toe-in). Everyone has seen a Sierra thats lowered and the wheels give massive camber. The inside 1-2 inches of the tyre then wear down to the wire while the rest of the tyre has a couple hundred more miles in them. This is due to the toe and not camber (rubbish 11° rear beam design!)

    There is some suggestions that on lower profile tyres where the side-wall is more rigid, that on cambered wheels, the wall won't flex as easy and therefore "push" the inner edge of the tyre into the road leading to slightly more excessive wear. This is open to debate but I suppose an example can be seen on the BMW X5 where from standard, there is a fair amount of negative camber on the rear wheels, but because the tyres are such high profile, the side-wall will flex and lead to unform wear.

    That's my 2 cents anyways

    Not always the case. I worked in garage that did tracking and heard from other garages that x5's were one of the biggest offenders in tyre wear and very hard to be got right. The screen would be shown up green that all parameters were correct but they would still be ateing the tyres off. One garage even has an offer where if you buy a set of new tyres for an x5 from them they will track the car for free and do it for half price any time you want until the tyres wear off.

    X5's will always without doubt wear the rears on the inside

    Right, a lad I know has one and I've never heard him complain about the tyre wear, but that's not saying it doesn't happen.

    X5 is a bad example so. (I'll get my coat!!!)

    Is he running the Poverty spec 17's,If so he'll get away with it,Maybe!

    Any upgrade or decent spec OEM bigger rim will create inner tyre wear!
