    Default battery relocation

    hey lads i got a battery relocation in the car,the bat is in the boot,well i recently my battery light flashs in the car and the dash lights dip but my voltage is the spot on 13.5 volts at all times,some times 14volts,oh yeah i recently put in a new altenator as the last one blew,iv had people tellin me its everyting from my fuel pump draining power to the distance between the alt and the bat,has anyone had a similar problem or know how to fix it,all help appreciated

    did you check your earth and positive for damage? make sure your earth is properly fixed to pure metal. thats the very first id check anyways.

    as eilleen said check them, few times i seen in yokes lads drill a hole same size as cable an push the cable through an obviously the hole will have sharp edges an wear into the cable over time.... ya have ta use gromits for them kinda things, pure disaster otherwise.............

    hope so,the bat clamps all seem to be perfect,there is also a fresh alt in her,i mite go and put the bat back in the engine and see does that change anything,ill wait and see did anyone on here have the same problem first

    well if your battery voltage is grand then nothing is draining it anyways. the other thing that can happen (depending on battery) is that the distance from boot to front can be too long. you have a few options to play around with then. try a stronger battery, or thicker cables or both lol.

    the other thing i can think of is that your short circuiting somewhere in the dash. happened to me and the cable for the light in the boost gauge and all the dash light went. it also blew the fuse. id check there if i were you first, to avoid buying a battery etc.
