can a new ignition barrel be matched to old key???

as above lads can the old key be used with a new barrel? can toyota match them up so 2 keys wont be needed one for locks and one for ignition???

not sure about toyota's but it can be done in other cars.
you can buy a pack of pins that you match up in order with the key and swap them for the pins in the barrels.
