    Default VW heads look here!

    ok iv got a passat tdi 01, and it was a small but down on power so i thought it was the afm so i plugged it out and went for a test drive it was a hundred times worse so i plugged it back in thinking that wasnt the problem but now it drives the same as wen i plugged it out? even when i have it plugged in? so i tried another afm on and same thing? could i have done damage when i plugged it out?

    Get someone with diagnostics stuff to read what the problem is. Sounds like that limp mode thing or something

    yea its just totally dead now, but i havent a clue how it happened i plugged the plug back in and all

    Well i'd imagine driving it without the airflow meter plugged in it would have made it switch to limp mode so you'll have to get it reset...

    Disconnet ecu for half hour or batterey,That will remove limp mode at least!

    cool ill do that, will the limp mode come back in after a while?

    You just need to get someone with VagCom to run a check,and that will tell you what the problem is.

    Get onto vagdrivers.net, and say the problem and where you live nd there will probably be someone close by who can do it for free!
