Right I suppose it is about time I updated this as alot has gone on in the last couple of weeks. I have been on it pretty much flat out as I was determined to have it ready for a drift day on Sunday, which I achieved!

I am not sure really what order to do this in so I will try and keep it straightforward but it was all a bit of a blur!

So I think when I posted last we had just got the car up and running but it obviously needed mapping but all sounded well.

So next job I wanted to get done was get it in paint as my Dad was painting it for me and he was going on holiday so we needed to get it done before he went away.

Not really much on that whole process but it ended up with the picture I posted above which I must say I am pretty damn happy with I think it looks like it could easily be sitting in the pits in Meihan as much as in my yard which is what I was going for, I think!

Next job was to get the interior sorted, as I will be competing in Prodrift this year I had to have a cage that was up to spec aswell as all the usual bucket seat, harness etc.

As I mentioned in a previous post I had already bolted in the main frame of the cage which was a 6 point through the dash bolt-in item but to be up to spec I had to add in a rear diagonal and double door bars on both sides.

I wanted to keep the cage fully bolt in as it means, if I want to, in the off season I can take out the door bars and also if the worst happens than the car will be very easily to reshell and get going again.

Here is a pic of the door bars, I am extremely happy with them as not only are they up to Pro spec they also allow me to keep my door cards:

Massive thanks for these (and all the fab work on my car) must go to my good friend Bill who constantley turns out top notch work.

I also got my gauges fitted which was a job I had wanted do for ages:

I love the placment of them and it is great to be able to keep an eye on the engine.

So after we got the interior pretty finshed it was time to take it for alignment, its first trip out of the yard in a while!

I was pretty happy with how I got the settings except for the front camber which combined with running pretty damn low and having +20mm S14 arms fitted came out at 6 degrees! I reckon I can reduce this though but I will have to adjust the top front camber arms which as, anyone who knows about these on a R32, will testify that they are a right pain!

I was pretty happy with the lock my modded knuckles are giving too:

I could get more but I would have to notch the bottom arm as the Tie rod end is hitting it and then I would be rubbing my ARB! Just to add I moved my tension rod mounts inwards for more clearence for lock and I can't see why people faff around with GTR ones as on my R32 anyway my Tein ones now sit further in than the ARB!

The day after alignment it was time to head for mapping, I have only done a mapping session a couple of times before and I am always nervous about them.

Fortunatley everything went fine and there was zero problems, I must of put it together alright! I got it mapped on a Nistune which Robbie in TDP supplied, fitted and mapped for me.

I was delighted with the results 390bhp/359lbs/ft at the flywheel at 1.4 Bar. I have never had this level of power before and I can't wait to get used to it and start putting it to use!

After mapping I had one more day to do the few other little jobs I could before Prodrift logging on Saturday then the drift day on Sunday.

One of the things I decided to do was switch from 235/40/18s on the rear to 225/40/18s to give me a tad more clearence:

    Nice fit!

Prodrift logging went fine, just a few bits and pieces I need to do to the car beore the first round but nothing major.

So Sunday came round and it as time to drive the car for the first time in about 6+months and with a totoally different car.

Gonna sum the day up pretty quickly, not the best day as I only really got one good run due to a miss/hesitation in the morning which we tried everything to cure and was just about to load the car up when I un-plugged the TPS sensor and it ran fine!

Then went out for my one and only good run and tbh didn't get a great feel for the car yet but it did feel very well balanced and the power is great fun, she loves to smoke!

Went out for another run after lunch and another miss was instantly noticable which turned out to be one of my Splitfire coilpacks failed! Some upgrade eh! I will be switching back to standard coilpacks.

So that was pretty much the day, still alot to learn about the car but it felt really good and once I get used to it I am sure it will be an animal.

Here is a couple of pics from the day I have found, as you can see the front isin't quite finished as I discovered that my vented wings are meant for a GTR so I need to get a pair of GTR indicators.

Right that was a bit of an essay! I am off now to do a few more bits to it to get it ready for Prodrift Round 1 in a couple of weeks!
