    Just ordered this:

38mm Turbosmart external wastegate, should make the RB20 sound sweet when she is up on boost

Got the R32 in the workshop now and have been cracking on with it. Unfortunatley I am waiting on quite a few parts to get on with the jobs I am doing.

One of my main aims with the R32 is to make it a competent drift car. To achieve this I knew I would have to modify the suspension componentry.

So with this in mind and still waiting on a number of parts for other jobs I decided to make a start on modifying the suspension.

The first port of call was a pair of S14 LCAs I had picked up for the project. I knew that I want to increase the front track width while also allowing more room for the increase in lock I intend to achieve also.

    So we made these up:

We have extended the arms by 20mm and also added in underside bracing similar to what is seen on S15s and Nismo arms. All the welding done is using a TIG welder so is very strong and a bit more appealing to the eye. We also made up a jig so we can easily make more in the future.

This should allow me to run a much more suitable camber setting while also giving more room for lock and a wider front track creating a more stable front end.

I can't wait to get on with the other bits I intended to modify and get them all fitted to the R32 and see (feel!) the difference.

If anyone is interested in getting a pair of these made up for their own car let me know. It can be done for a reasonable price and I could also fit DW polybushes/ new ball joints to the arm if required. A fitting service to the car is also avaliable. Just PM me!

Well progress has been a bit slow the last couple of weeks as I have been doing other stuff but am cracking on again now.

I thought I would take a quick pic of the offset bushes I got in order to fit a S14 rear subframe in the R32.

They look pretty smart and will also mount the subframe flush withthe floor that should give a degree of roll centre correction.
It also looks like I have done a deal on my engine set up in order to change to something I have always wanted to try. I think some people with love it and some will hate it but I personally can only really see positives with it.

I will get some more info on all this up as soon as everything is confirmed.

Well my new engine has arrived

Yep, I am fitting a straight cam SR20. It made huge sense in my mind as I could easily achieve the power figures I wanted to with the RB20 whilst fitting a lighter shorter engine that may well produce a bit more torque.

My plan is to get a bigger turbo (not sure which one yet but looking for 380bhp+ so open to suggstions), some 550cc injectors, an aftermarket ECU (looking like nistune) and have a nice amount of power.

I am gonna clean up the engine bay a bit before I get it in but should have it in soon enough hopefully.

Bought a little present for the SR:

Motul 300V 15W50 and a HKS hybrid sports oil filter.

I know from my time working at Abbey Motorsport that Motul oil is some of the best out there and I wanted to put the best oil in I could afford. It should also last longer than other cheaper oils giving longer periods between oil changes.

I suppose now all I have to do is get the engine fitted and running!

Haven't really done much to the car the last week as I have been away/injured myself/been doing other stuff.

I am trying to collect up a few bits for the SR now to up the power, I will be looking for at least 380bhp but a bit more would be nice although I am not sure the rods will take it.

I am gonna try and get some 740 injectors but can't currently decide what turbo to go for. I was thinking 2871R .64 but was also considering something a bit larger like a 3071R or maybe a TD06 20G. I dunno I will just have to see what comes up I suppose.

I am also currently trying to resist the urge to fit the spare Z33 gearbox that my Dad has sitting in the shed from a VQ powered project he is building!

good work gone into this, looked savage before the kit, cant wait to see more pics, would the sr give you more power than the rb?

Cheers lad, there is alot more work to go into it yet though!

Sr won't give more power than a RB in particular (although it may offer more torque) but I decided to go this way mostly for the handling benefits. The SR is 2 cylinders shorter and also all alloy so should give a near on perfect weight balance.
