    Default N/A to Turbo

    Question:
Is it a big job to go from 180sx na sr20de to a sr20det?
Whats needed to be convert over to turbo?
    Any one done this?

I know of a couple of people talking about doing this, its worth a shot id say.

exhaust manifold, ecu, injectors, tubby, fmic, downpipe, necessarly vacuum oil and coolant lines

since its na its already running higher compression so running low boost should give nice power. get it properly mapped too.

it would be interesting to see what way it would work out..

Youd more than likely melt the pistons in a de engine with a turbo on it.

cheapest option is to just drop a new engine in.

Cheaper to simply put an sr20det engine into it.

The expensive of making an sr20de function as a det would be more then a conversion.

Its low compression pistons which are needed for turbo'd engines so even if you did turbo it it couldn't(safely) be as powerfull as a det
