    Default 2010 build!!

This is where im at now and what iv been up to since xmas.

Iv also desided that as i cant afford a gear set for the rb box this year im going to make an increased capacity sump(an extra 2-3ltrs), add a thermostaticly controlled electric oil pump, an oil cooler and an oil filter, in the hope to reduce the chances of yet more box killage:wack:

Got some R32 GTR bits from Scotty at Skylinepart.com, cheers mate:thumbs:
If you are wondering why, its coz i snapped over 8 drive shafts in 09, im sick of changing the things. GTR is much stronger. Only worry il be blowing box's more again, lets hope the cooler will help that.

Checked the out put spline diamiter to see if ill need a GTR or late s14a/s15 2way diff. Tis the right size

GTR's have a locking diff from the factory but still no good to me, its going up for sale and is a good upgrade over the vlsd and is streight swap on late s14a and s15.

The input flange on the GTR diff is differant to sbody so that needs swapping out for an ABS Sbody flange. So that was taken off.

So it now looks a bit like this V . Il be using every thing other than the GTR locking diff and input flange.

The right ratio too 4.11:1 for any body who cant be arsed to work it out. EDIT: Excuse the manky finger, i dropped a gearbox on it a few weeks ago!

Some other parts iv been collecting over the months,
    Thanks to EPRacing:notworthy

Slight change for 2010, yea its been done to death but not how this will look in the end

So i went up to EPracing today to see the legend that is Leon. We collected the last few bits to complete the "new look". And some other goodies. Just got to wait on the front bumpers to be air freighted!
I would list all the bits wer fitting but thatd give it all away!

The GTR shafts arived, the size differance is funny! Note the inner CV joint, its HUGE!! I busted a few of the shats throgh the casting last year on s14 shafts, cant see that happening again with these!!

    2mm differance

New steering rack after i bent mine in Portugal!

Been held getting on with the car as iv been fitting loads of these things!

And started making the templates for the increased capacity sump for the rb25 box,

Thats it for now, should have time to start test fitting all the kit tomorow

well, with the use of Alan(manfoots) surf today i pulled the Portugal damage out. Then i had time to chuck the new front on:smokin:

Slight pull and all is mint, surprising how soft these things are

    to this

New bits one bolt and one cable tie in each wing, two bolts on the bonnet and headlights reasting there, little bit of jiggery pokery the lines will be mint.

Any way, its getting there, all be it slowely and the parts pile is growing and plans are changing.
I can no longer stretch to a two way diff so will be sticking with a good old welder in the GTR back end setup. And will now be running a forged 2ltr sr instead of the 2.2ltr as planned. Now plan to run a lower C/R, cam swing, port and flow and some cams to get the lag to a more usable level.

Parts list: Thank you Apex :notworthy, GarageD, EPracing, Rarerims, skylinepart.....
    ARP main studs
    ARP head studs
    ACL race BE bearings
    ACL race Main bearings
    nissan oil pump rotors
    nissan water pump
    cometic HG
    Apex gasket sets
    Apex conrods
    CP 87mm pistons
    BC valve springs
    HKS cams
    Willwood hydro master
    Rota GTR-D wheels
    Apex tension rods
    Apex inverted coilovers
    tein rods

Have most the parts now appart from a few on that list i.e rest of wheels, front bumper and cams are being air freighted.

So, il just let the pics show what i been up to.
trial fitting the rest of the kit, soo flush, even with stock wheels and no spacers!!

Stickers removed thanks to my lovely (but grumpy after this job) girlfriend and manfoot and bec.

Next was to take out the stock s14 drive shafts, wheels berings and diff to replace it with the GTR bits.

The GTR bearings need this lug cutting off to fit

Next was to take on the diff, Julian at GarageD sorted me with a nice open diff to be welded up!!

    The empty GTR casing

As im using the GTR cassing i got an s14 ABS diff input flange so the prop wont be too short!! I removed the ABS ring and dust cover from it so i can get a ring spanner on its easier.

Looks a bit odd but the diamiter of the shaft where the oil seal seals is the same, its just got no dust cover, but its not being built to do a 100k miles!

The 4.1:1 ring gear fitted to the diff

Fitted it to the casing and meshed it nice and tight to reduce transmission lash in the hope to stop braking bits!

GTR out put shafts went streight in with out having to make new C clip grooves!

And then fitted an r33 gtst back plate

    One of the new wheels
