Clutch help

I've just finished putting and RB25det into my S13.

I put in a cusco super single plate clutch, with a new clutch plate I got from RHD Japan. When I got the car running I took it for a spin down the lane (no more than half a mile), to find out 3rd gear was F#*$?d.

So I have now took the gearbox out to sort that problem out, and took off the clutch to check alls ok, to find the clutch plate has scorched the outside 15mm off the clutch plate without making contact with the rest.



When you run your finger across the clutch plate you can feel the lip, but not a noticable one on the clutch plate



Can anyone help?

did you use a uprated flywheel? is the flywheel smooth?

Yea mate, all comes in one unit. can't feel anything wrong with flywheel, don't think getting it lathed would help as the old clutch plate was wearing fine. The only reason I got a new one was because the springs were calved
