welded diff bits in oil??

took the standard diff out of the 180 to put in the welded diff but i drained out the oil from the welded one and there was around 4 bits of metal around the size of rice crispys in the oil will the diff last or is there any point puttin it in or is this normal with welded diffs ??

if it was weldin in the casin it could be jus weld splatter take the back plate off an give it bit of clean out wit some oil an see it anymore comes out

Was the pieces of metal weld slag or something or was it actually metal from the diff itself?

Prob just bits of weld falling out. Put it in and drive for abit, then drain the oil and check again.

Its not a big job to take it out if it does turn out to be fecked anyway.

its just bits of weld fuck it i put 2 litres of silkolene in chance it..

it was prop welded wit a stick welder so prop just bits of slag!!! take off the rear cover check the crown for damage and if ya don't see any give it a wash out wit a drop of petrol and she will be sound!!
