Altezza loosing power / exhaust sounds different

Noticed recently the exhaust has started to sound a bit different and "seemed" to bog down on power, only way I can describe it, felt like turbo lag for a second or so.

Car had a nice rasp around 2.5k to 3k revs in the lower gears, now it seems to do it at 2.5 to 3k and 4k to 5k.
Could it be the baffle thats boll*xed?

I do tend to blip the throttle alot

Making me think of uprating the whole system if its worth it, aftermarket manifold, downpipe etc through to new backbox. 54mm diam system would be suffice I'd say, anything bigger would probaby loose? I had a 54mm cashiew system on my ae86 and seemed to work grand with a greddy 4-1 manifold..

Don't want to pay big bucks though, and preferably a 4-2-1 as to get more out of low end.



Definately seems to be loosing power though and exhaust note is starting to sound a tad terrible.

could be a hole on da inside of your backbox & da glass fiber stuff is falling out blocking you exhaust gas,,,,,

happend a tezza round here a while back,

Blipping the throttle, gave a nice sound when gearing down and got aquianted with it

Any idea's how to clean the AFM?

Take it out to start with,Dead handy.

Blow an easy air line through it,Then some carb cleaner,
Tbh,Every altezza Ive ever had or seen has suffered from this.

Go with that for now and I'll give ye more homework when your back

Go very handy if you are going to blow air though it, the element would be very easily damaged by compressed air.

A good spray of carb cleaner would clear anything that might be effecting the afm.

With regards to the exhaust, unless something has/is starting to block the exhaust then the baffling etc coming out wouldn't cause a flat spot.

Afm, plugs, coilpacks, fuel filter/pump are the easy ones, after that it would need more looking in to.

A friend and I were looking at it and found it had NO OIL in it, well, the tinest bit..
Shocked to say the least, put around 5 liters in it and it took it all. Still down on power, split second delay in acceleration, exhaust is getting fiercely horrible.

Could running no oil have damaged anything?

Going to clean the AFM tomorow and then see how it is.n Dropping it into a local garage to let them have a look at the exhaust system itself and generally have a look at it all over.n

Doesn't seem to be knocking, in fact engine seems to run very smooth at idle, just low on power throughout rev range, vvti is kicking in grand, still doesnt feel as if its pulling like it was last week. I'm thinking surely something to do with the exhaust is making it loose the power

When was it last serviced? Plugs etc ?

Check you AFM as mick said, clean it with carb cleaner, then check your plugs they could need changing. Also the TB (trottle body) may need to be cleaned, used carb cleaner to clean it.
