    Default lining up an engine and box

    wel
    in the next few weeks i,m going about fitting an rb25det into an e36 now i,m
    thinking off doing this conversion myself? now i know there has to be costom mounts for gearbox and engine my question is what is the best way to line the engine and box up in the car?

    bolt em together when there on the ground. an stick it all in together, easyest!

    Leave the bmw mounts on the crossmember, make up 2 nice flat square plates with the four holes to bolt on to each side of the engine and bolt these on. Then hoist the engine in to what you think is a nice position and secure it as best you can. Its as simple as making up the brackets to go from the top of the mounts to the plates you've bolted onto the sides of the engine then. You cant go wrong. Obviously easier if you have all the manifolds and stuff off the sides of the engine too. We put a cossy turbo into an e36 before and the brackets turned out lovely. Ill try poke out some pics..
