    Default s14 s14a turbo how to tell the difference

    how do i tell the difference between t25 turbo and the t28 s14 and s14a by looking at it on a car ?

    All s14's have t28 standard... only s15's came standard with the t28r(roller bearing)

    The t28 has 4 bolts on the compressor housing where as the t28r has 6.
    Also when you turn off the engine with a t28r fitted you should hear the turbo spooling down for about ten seconds after the engine switchs off

    apparently the late late japanese s14a silvias came with the ball bearing t28. also the later s15 turbos were ceramic.

    but afaik all uk s14 and s14a turbos are the same!

    ya should be able to see the part numbers i did a few threads on the different part numbers do a search there and see how ya go!!
