    Default Steering locking up when drifting

    180sx steering locks up when drifting
    The steering in the track car seems to lock up if i turn the wheel fully on a drift, any ideas how to sort this?
    all arms hubs etc are standard

    No lock mods?? Have you wide wheels on the front?

    No mods, ya the wheels are wide on the front, that make a difference?

    check if your lock stoppers on the hubs are there or not as it might be going over center, if thats not the problem then space the front wheels out or fit different wheels.

    you 100% sure they're locking up and they're not just crap steering tyres causing you to understeer?

    Prettu sure they are there will check to be sure, have spacers in the front,

    Pretty sure i cant actually turn the wheel back to centre until i stop the car

    If its not centering could be a bent tie rod on one side or really bad alignment. Also check the lock stops on the hubs

    I replied on DW but for others aswell.

    I had the exact same problem. Turned out to be the PAS pump and in turn, it would feel like the steering lock would come on mid corner.. resulting in me just spinning as the wheel literally wouldnt turn either direction.

    I removed the PAS belt and could keep drifting, all be it with no PAS I got home and ditched the pump/lines etc etc.
