Default Shimming a standard R200 diff pros and cons

As the title says lads, I'm thinking of shimming my standard diff out of my uk s14a. Is it possible to do and what would the pros and cons be for a road car. Also for guys who have done this already what thickness shims did you use and what were the results.

    Cheers

    Ken

i used 2 0.8mm shims and its locked solid like a welder. done mondello and tullow in it, driven daily for 8 months now and no problems. its just basicly like driving a welded diff

Piece of piss to do, no changing bearing height or anything. Nct wernt happy with it but ya can honestly say it's a vlsd. I should have the part numbers somewhere. Ya take the diff out. Undo the backing plate, the 4 diff bearing retainers and take the diff unit out, put the shims in where the old shim is and put it back together
