    Default sr20 vs sr20det gearbox id/differences

    Have a nearley free gearbox that the guy says is s14 turbo but its bolted to a s14 non turbo / na engine.

    Can anyone shed light of the differences or how to identify a na vs a sr20det box?

    I dont want the car off the road while one is being rebuilt and im too lazy go z/rb etc..

    No difference, just the 5th gear ratio i think.

    Ya think Larz is right, my N/A gearbox from an s15 worked perfect on an s14 engine when i converted the s15 to turbo.

    Yeh I've searched and so far I've found 5th is different ratio and a mention of the input shaft being smaller?

    I thought the s15 boxed were different because of the dual mass flywheels the input shaft was shorter? As the pilot bush was in the flywheel and not in the crank.

    Appreciated lads its piece of mind before I build up strengthen to do it.
