mate sent me this earlier..
brilliant reworking of the internal combustion engine...
pretty much taking the best bits from the combustion & wankel engines and putting them together..

"I don't have to be careful, I've got a gun!"
Homer Simpson...
I'd love to know what he was smoking in order to come up with that design!!
Looks good in theory but apart from running higher compression, I find it hard to see how it's more efficient than a convientional or ICB or rotary as the pistons aren't actually acting on the crank directly but only a resultant force.
If the design was reliable though, it would be sweet for big boost due to being able to run high CR and combustion temps being relatively low
Yeah its cool in, good to see somebody trying something new.
originally made in the 60s if i remember, never put into production because of heat issues and econemy
Haha, the two things they are raving about in the video
There's been countless new ideas for an engine over the years and many more copying earlier ideas (don't know how many videos I've seen of a horizontally opposed engine as a brand new idea!) and trying to start them off as the next big thing but as they say, if it isn't broken, don't fix it![]()
