B licence is 750kg trailer and 3500kg MAM
BE is 7000kg MAM and trailer within towing capacity.
With a B licence. You can tow any trailer upto the weight of 750kg but the MAM must be below 3500kg. i.e; if you have a jeep weighing 3000kg just for example, you'll only be able to pull a trailer of 500kg even if the towing capacity of the jeep might be 3.5-7 tonne while you'd still be able to tow 750kg if you just had a small van.
Realistically, all you'll legally carry to a track with a B licence is something like a very light autograss buggy
If you have a BE licence, you can tow any trailer once the MAM is below 7000kg and you don't exceed the towing capacity of the vehicle your towing with.
For example, a Freelander may only be able to tow around 2 or 2.5tonnes so the trailer and freelander combined can only be around 3.5-4tonne or so while a Defender, Navara or something bigger could tow 3.5 so MAM should be about 6 or so.
Some US trucks can tow 5 or 7 tonnes but with a BE licence unless you've had it since before 1989, you'll still be restricted to a 7000kg train weight which is where you could get caught easily say if you had a recent BE licence and something like a Chevy so with the weight of that plus the trailer you might reach the 7000kg limit with very little load.
