Quick update before the most important update....

Rocker cover got a colour change, looks a lot more presentable now. Dirty rust manifold got a lick of High temperature heat resistant paint up to 650 degrees. Few more little bits like cleaning up brackets, replacing pipes, polishing intercooler piping and it should be finished soon enough.

But best of all..... This arrived today.

You might ask, why in the name of god am I wrapping the car? Who wraps a jap car? Why not paint it? You ruined the car, blaa blaa blaa.

Heres the simple reasons behind it; The colour choice I've had in my head the past two years and my personal favourite colour, more or less couldn't be painted. I got a couple of quotes, cheapest being about 3,500 euros, dearest being 5k. That's stupid for a car that will be driven on, the car will be a road car, but also see the likes of Autoheroes and Clubloose. I smack a bumper? I rip a sideskirt? Big dollars to spray it this colour again. Within the week, I'll have a new piece of kit returned to me freshly wrapped the exact same colour without having to worry about a paint match. Also, if I want to change the kit? Which I probably will change the bumpers and skirts, easy peasy!

I have found the right guy at LM Autostyling here in Waterford, he is absolutely awesome. His time and patience going into getting absolutely everything right is nuts. Before I made any decisions or jumped the gun, I've studied all his work, watched him do his job, and explained to him how I needed it done. And he fully understands. The way he finished the wrap, in door shuts or the boot shut is crazy, he brings it to every factory line possible.

With this vinyl, its a special new gloss wrap, looks exactly like a freshly painted car standing back looking at it, and probably only a panel beater or someone who is anal about paint will notice its not paint. I can wash, shampoo, and polish the wrap just like a paint. Even better, I have a 7 year warranty with the wrap. Meaning it wont fade, blister, bubble, peel, crack, and if by the off chance it does, immediate replacement. Nice to know after 6 and a half years.

But again, my car, and I'm doing it how I want and how I'd love to see it. I don't listen to begrudgers, if you want a colour you like and don't have that sort of money to be throwing out, wrap it. The car will be getting some cool late 90's/early 00's sticker styling also. If I don't like them, I can peel them off. If I don't like the wrap in 6 months or a year, I can peel it off. Win Win situation all round.

I won't be posting any more pictures of the colour till it's more or less completed, but have a guess. It's a good feelin getting a move on
