So I left the primer sit for a couple of days and settle before I painted it, so in the mean time just began to prep my bonnet for the bonnet vent...

Obviously wanted to keep it as structured as possible so kept the underneath bracing only cutting the actual skin of the bonnet, still allowing for ventilation. But also tack welded the brace back to the skin as much as possible to keep it that structured...

Lick of sealer all round then just to stop any corrosion from water build up or any sort...

And then the primer seemed okay to work with tonight, so gave it a light rub down with p400 and got to work. The colour probably doesn't look very appealing in the photos, but it was still wet and its a part of a process.... Chose this dark gold subtle kind of base colour and have a little something special on the way in the post that I can hope I can pull off.

Leave it settle for a while and hope my delivery comes sooner rather than later But in the meantime.. Gotta riv-nut on tht bonnet vent and do a little more of a tidy and prep on my engine for it to go in as soon as the bay is finished

    Brief update;

Driftworks bonnet vent finally fitted, rivnutted on once again for simplicity.

And heres the little package I was waiting to come in the post, took its time! 30g of Gold Holographic 0.004 metalflake....

    Got mixing!

And heres the final result, so hard to get a good picture to actually show what its really like, nothing compared to the naked eye... Its a lot more.. Gold, shiny, holographicy....

Now... Time for the very last burst of hard work! Game on...

Jesus I thought driftireland was gone for good there last two or three weeks Just a little update seeing as were back in action!

Just a little close up of the engine bay paint with a decent camera that wasn't an iPhone

Clutch & Flywheel acquired and time to put the jigsaw back together

In goes the engine and box, treated it to a nice little aluminium rad too, cleans it up

    All new gaskets

    New driftworks clutch lines

Out with the LSD, in with a cusco two way

Glad I've cleaned up and painted everything before going back in, makes it look 100 times fresher and better underneath

Wheels got some stickers after the spray and furb

Few more little jobs here and there, running a s15 turbo so bigger injectors etc and all going well itll be sent away for full custom loom, nistune ecu and map. The urge to have it on the road for nice sunny Sundays is starting to eat me alive! Full steam ahead

Small update seen as I'm on... Car finally seeing a bit of daylight for once. Engine, box everything in underneath, and currently gone off to Tom in Mad Racing for some more trusty work, this time making up some custom intercooler piping, intake pipe and a few other small bits.

Bought some dimpled and grooved brake discs and new pads all round, shiny is nice...

Picked up these for handy money, haven't even been sat in..

Engine and Power prep going pretty good too, got myself some sard 550 injectors, Z32 AFM with hks filter, GReddy intercooler, upgraded alloy rad, walbro fuel pump, GReddy boost controller and blitz turbo timer.

Car booked in for full wiring with custom switchboards etc, and also a full nistune with Stiv at MDTuning in 3-4 weeks. So in the meantime, finish the last few bits, off to get tracking and every nut and bolt gone over on all the arms etc, finish bleeding the brakes and fitting the calipers, battery relocation, then its make or break time when it goes off for wiring.

Cheers Dude, I like an aggressive look. Hopefully it'll look even better all the one colour haha!

So were mounting the intercooler in front of the rad but behind the lights bars for neatness and also shorter intercooler piping so less chance of lag...

It did require a little trim behind the headlights themselves, but its very neat and hidden compared to your usual front mount holes which would be located in front of the tubs.

I also invested in a hks filter as its shorter so should be easier tuck in neatly around or under the intercooler piping, and making a custom stainless pipe for the intake also.

Only a mock up as of now, but hopefully welded together in the next day or two

Few more goodies to add to the list...

Full custom intercoolerpiping finally done, soon to finish custom intake piping in the next couple of days.

Brakes finally done, dimpled and grooved discs all round and new pads. Brand new driftworks lines and wilwood bleed nipples.

Got a custom switch panel made up, and mounts to hold it in place in replacement of the air con unit...

    New HKS Hybrid Oil Filter

Got my hands on an Owen Developments adjustable actuator

Picked up a HKS fuel pressure regulator, some Torques AN fittings, and also a Torques fuel filter and some shiny braided hose, and a Sytec gauge from Driftworks to top it off

Brand new slave cylinder, and a full braided clutch line to finish that off..

Pretty well set up and all looking good for wiring and mapping etc next week. Huge thanks to Tom at Mad Racing for the last couple of weeks work, with the tubbing, custom piping, brakes etc. Super work. Hopefully next update will have some rubber burning in celebration

Car finally gone away for custom wiring and mapping in MDTuning.

Here's the more or less finished engine bay ...

Odyssey dry cell battery relocated to boot, with custom mounting brackets made up.

Lot of people prefer to remove sound deadening, but I got some nice light stuff for the boot, seeing as it is a road car... I'd like to be able to listen to the radio haha

Custom switch panel mounted in place, with the AC Control unit relocated to glove box just to be awkward and different.

Endless amount of goodies bought... Can never have enough really...

Rear view from the new broadway don't look too bad!

Nothing like lots of gauges with flashy lights and beeps, cant wait to see these light up the dash!

And finally in for a quick track before goes on the dyno.

All going according to plan, should be back in 2-3 weeks. And straight to paint, final few finishing touches and job almost done
