Lol now your making it confusing.
Your right basecoat needs 2k clear but clear over basecoat isnt called 2pack.Their two seperate painting procedures.
I was simply giving the op information so that when he was in a shop asking for paint, when hes asked 2k or basecoat he knows what he wants.

All he has to do is walk into the shop and give them the paint code, you can only make up the midnight purple formula in solvent basecoat or water based. 2K doesn't even come into the equation.

My bad, didn't know you cant get it in 2k. He just needs to decide between solvent and water based then.

i paint my r34 midnight purple lp2

I can get you 5litres of midnight purple lp2 solvent base for €250 mixes 50/50 with 2k thinners if you go to any paint suppliers it gonna be bout €80 a litre . Lp2 is very transparent I usually paint it over a silver bascoat if yr not doing that and painting over patches of primer etc you ll need about 6-7 coats of paint and you would want to dust a couple of light final coats otherwise it will look patchy when the sunlight hits it, as for 2pack paint it's only for solid colors u can't buy a metalic or pearl like lp2 in 2pack , it's old school shite basically grand for tractor s vans or drift cars imo, if u need any info on laquers,thinners to use jus pm me ill try point u in the right direction

that makes more sense obviously the baseoat will make a difference to the finished shade so youd wana no when silver u use as a base too? for repairs in the future?
