    Red face whats that? (pic)

Not too sure what those pipes/wires are for and was wondering if the heat wrap is necessary or not?
I guess it is cause its near the manifold, so what would that be exactly?
    Thanks

The one from rocker cover is your breather pipe anyway to ventilate crankcase gases the other one looks to be like a heather matrix water pipe heats the rad inside your car off the engine coolant to give you hot air through your heating

    Open to correction tho

    Yeah that's a doo-whop..... standard stuff

Seriously though, I would leave the heatwrap unless you really have a good reason to remove it. Personally I would leave it in place considering it is right by the exhaust manifold

okay i throw in another question!:

if i heatwrap the manifold and exhaust system, would it affect the engine in some way? like less ponies?

and would it make sense? wouldnt mind to do it but dunno if it is stupid to do or if it helps or if it has no affect at all and just would look different then?

Heat wrapping the exhaust manifold keeps the exhaust gases at a slightly higher temperature so it flows a little quicker giving you a slight gain in performance.

Also is good for your engine bay as heat wrapping the manifold means everything else in the same area of it stays a little cooler.

Only disadvantage of wrapping the manifold and exhaust is it can rust badly if it absorbs moisture if its poor quality stainless.

Probably better off to get a tubular stainless manifold and wrap that before going to the trouble of wrapping the one you have though.

    oh that sounds good so!

yeah i was thinking about that as well, wont just wrap the manifold now as its full of rust, will get it prepared first so! thanks a mil!

make a heat shield and i wouldn't go wrapping manifolds IMO since alot of cars go on fire because of it getting really really hot and oil and stuff soaking into it if its ever spilt or dripped on it. just make a heat shield that goes from beside your rocker around to the turret and put heat resistant tape on it and bingo, keeps heat away from the fire wall and wires etc
