My 200sx stolen this morning

this happend with me with axa too a few years ago,

they said technically you wernt insured, so i told them sein as i wasnt insured they owe me what ive paid them, a week later id a check out for any bit of money i paid for insurance!! ring them and say that..

fuck me that is genius! would never think of sayin that, its deffo goin in my list of things to say to insurance people!

An update on this....


I got the car back last Thursday and between work an spending the weekend at Mondello I only got to look at it yesterday...


So engine won't start... well the starter motor is clicking...

There is oil in it - about half way on the dipstick
It lost coolant (rad cap blew off), took about two and a half liters to fill the rad

It turns over by hand fairly easy
It "sounds" like it has compression - couldnt get a reading turning it by hand
Normal shaft play on turbo

Tried to push starting it but there was only three of us in a gravel filled yard so couldn't get enough speed...

need to check the starter wiring and pull start it if needs be...

is it possible the engine survived? watchin the video it looks like it overheats, there's a constant flame out of the exhaust for about 20-30 seconds, and it stops spinning wheels while your main is still dogging it (could be clutch tho)...



Body work wise.. its not that bad to be honest...

I've had a better look at it than when it was in Gannons and to get it back to the way it was it needs...

Headlight covers, brackets and motors - everything fucked bar the lenses... need to take em apart anyway an have a proper look

Cross member, slam panel thing - bent to fuck but might be repairable

Passenger wing dented, twisted, all over the place

Driver wing - kinked so probably repairable..

then it starts getting a little better:

Bonnet and passenger door are dented but repairable

Bumper bar - bent but definitely repairable

Pignose bumper (I reckon this one will bend back to the way it was with a bit of heat)









The front left wheel is dented but holding air so should be all good..


One rear is totally fucked anyway... I thought the one where the tyre held up longer was alright aswell... but:




the inner lip is worn down... the bead is still there sooo it might be salvageable?



Insurance wise - I've got nowhere with them... gave the car back and any question I ask, the short answer is to contact the insurance ombudsman... so that will be the next step... although they already told me it'll be tough but hopefully if I open a case they may have a different attitude...

It's not the whole car thats annoying me now - well it is - but I've got this whole non-disclosure and cancelled policy business thats not good for getting quotes...

Hey mate try changing the ignition fuse in the engine bay, think its a big green one like 40amp or sumtin should be writin on the cover.it might not look blow but change it anyway, happend to mine when it got stolen aswell, wouldnt start but was fine after I changed the fuse, didnt look blown.

If its clicking but not turning cud b that they burned the clutch out if it so badly the dust from clutch has. Logged the starter I seen it happen a few cats that got ragged !!

It really shows how good the irish drift scene is though with all the offers you've had from people.
