Default lexus is200 as a cheap track car????

looking through done deal and they are shocking cheap, like 600-800 euro would get you one. we all no lads buy them for doing "buns" but would they be any good for doing a track day in?? would the engine take the abuse?? enough power?? what other issues??

never owned an is200 but its similar power and weight to a e36 318iS

in which case with a bit of rain and and some extra pressure in the tyres you should have a bit of craic alright.. dont expect anything amazing tho

Had one myself fairly maggoty slow, but they can take fierce and I mean fierce abuse some craic when ya do get em sideways takes serious commitment to get em going but there acfually lovely to drift as the lad above said 16s and a bit of rain there a great yoke, friend of mine has one for sale he drove it at the last superdrift and had more craic than most up there in it he bolted in coilovers from his ae86 made it a great machine in the wet , he even managed 3rd in it , Id say if you got one and took all the weight out of it itd be great craic for the money and also a lovely car to drive

I also had one, 00 Is200 Sport with lsd. It was slow enough, but it was perfect for doing rings. Nice to drive, engine sounds great with straight thru Im not too sure about the track tho.

I am currently using a is200 as a drift car and I cant fault it at all, all I have is a hydro and a diff, they will take 3rd gear in the wet all day and will take serious abuse, only thing they heavy on is petrol! Id say go for it!
