I'm not gonna say it got the same fuel consumption as a diesel but it is managable, would be nice to see it stay here

Wouldn't say you'd b far off , especially as your run is pretty much straight. I would probably put a standard airbox back onto it and go easy on the foot, from looking on soc 28mpg is about average with usual intake exhaust mods, the 20de neo is meant to be more economical but I'v had both and there is no way I would give up a couple mpg's for the extra grunt when wanted

Wonder would the spec r six speed box help mpg?

I always have out about getting 12-16mpg from the 81 but the one time I drove it to the new house it was great on juice! 6 speed would help, it's all about keeping the revs down. I've been thinking about a spec s s15 for ages!

Once you'v a decent run your grand. I'v always liked the spec s , have had a n/a ps13,180sx and kouki s14 . they are ideal in this country for road cars. Well especially if you have to do any sort of commute. I think i average about 80km's a day and tried to use the 32 as a daily. couldn't do it on 2012 wages anyway

Tell me about it I'd be safer on the dole but that's another thing!

I can't afford to get into big money cars at the min that's half the attraction of a non turbo for me plus less to mod!

The mondeo needs two small things sorting I might put it up for sale see if I can shift it....
