Default rb25det over heating cooling problem

Just looking for abit of help on this.. Rebuild the head on the engine have it back in now and running but cant seem to get the water to flow around where it is ment to.. I think i have it narrowed down that it is the thermostat.. Have put brand new thermostat in and no change.. Lower rad pipe is staying cold no water getting past the thermostat.. no heating in the cabin.. Have had few of these engines in and out and never had to bleed cooling system.. Does anyone know those near the thermostat have to be bled... Any help greatly appreciated thanks in advance

    They 100% will need bleeding.

The bleed screw is somewhere around number 1 injector I can't remember exactly where.
