    Default Track/Time attack/drift 20V cam

My mate bought this shell a couple of months ago with the intention of making a track/time attack/drift car.so we started work on it this evening by getting it in the garage and making a start of stripping it bare.there's some rust to be sorted out and its gonna be seam welded and lightened
the idea is to have it a running track car by the end of next year and to compete in time attack in 2011

pockets are rusty but we are cutting them out

we started by taking out the dash and all behind it

dash fully stripped out.everything gone from behind it

heres the interior before it was all taking out

    cleaning it down

    sound deadening out

the wiring loom out.you'd be surprised how much weight is in that

nearly all of the deadening out

this is the worst par of the cam and at that most of whats seen in the picture is surface rust,we have to sort this out first by replacing the floor here

    anyway heres some updates
right, well after a trip to limerick late one night last week we picked up the water relocation kit and distributor blanker.got 2 freedom ecu's,one mildly tuned and the other one with a standard man and also got a wasted spark system to get rid of the unreliable distributor
started putting the engine in last night anyway
    engine bay empty

mark andrews the mechanic and shaneek9 working on the engine

set of trumpets we picked up

    fitting the water relocation kit

getting ready to drop her in

    happy mark

you can see the wasted spark system on top of the engine

    SHOEHORN:nuts)

me master of the jcb teleporter

Haha AE86's are taking over the site. Cool build hope it goes well for ya. Them metal gauzes are suppose to sap the power dramaticly I havent first hand experience of this but a fella on ae86irl dyno tested an escort with and without gauzes and when they were fitted it lost something like 21bhp. The socks are a better option but can tear, it happened to mine so I just took them off didnt do any harm but you run the risk of stones/dust getting in but if its just a track car the risk would be low.
