this is a little thing i was working on for my brothers was supposed to be a christmas present but iv been so busy and generally unwell the last few months its dragging on
its a full size pool table, was a gift from a pub i used to work in years ago when i was younger, was going to be scrapped a few months ago as the Quote to refurb the torn cloth Professionably was unbelieveable :O a few gouges on the slate but its not cracked and all straight, but it was generally shoddy scrapped and damaged laminate on the body.
i bought cloth online, was just going to re surface it but decided to do it once and right and decided to tidy it up,
iv no expeirence in spray painting at all, but i read a few topics online, we have a compressor,so i got clewed up, bought a gravity feed gun, sandpaper thinners and paint,
First problem:
i remade the black peice in the body of the table out of plywood,i sanded, rubbed thinners over it and i sprayed it in primer and all these weird cracks/flakes/bubbling started to form in the paint in 2 little areas, sanded it back and re primered it again but the same happened again
what would be causing this? as im at a loss with it?
second problem:
i stripped fixed the damage and primed the body of the table
this was after one coat of 2 pac primer i blocked it back with 800 grit wet paper and gave it another coat,
i then got the black paint its 1 pac paint, mixed it 2:1 paint thinners sprayed a few peices and it just ran and didnt set right.
i then mixed it 3:1 and sprayed on a few coats, i block it back with 800 grit wet paper but its just realy rough tiny little bubbles are forming all over like feck just on the top part.
(this picture is the top of the table)
is that normal? as iv blocked it back again to take out the bubble marks and leave it as smooth as i can, and I am getting ready with the next coat and id rather see if im going wrong with something before going further![]()
