    Default CA and SR boxs

    Lads, will CA boxs bolt up to an SR engine?

    Bought a auto 1.8 CA and fella has SR20DE bolted onto auto box. SO prob be cheaper for me to buy manual CA box for her?

    nope. ca and sr are completly different engine.

    i can modify ca boxes to fit sr's and vice versa

    My question is why would ye bother,CA's boxes are shit,I have an SR box if your stuck.

    Aren't they the same boxes only for the bellhousing. And isn't the RB20 box the same internally aswell.

    I heard the RB25 box is the same as a CA box with a different bell housing....

    open to correction, only going on what i heard!

    Jesus no lad are ya mad......... Do ya think lads wold be doing all that work fitting rb25 boxes onto sr's if you could use a ca.......... rb's are a far stronger box........

    Yea tink the rb20 boxes are more or less the same internally as a sr.....
    As soft as a choclate teapot........

    SR boxes have better ratios than CA's which is why people fit SR boxes to CA's but a CA box if you wer stuck will fit an SR if you swap bellhousings.

    Shite the secrets out!we put a ca box in jays s14 and the general consensus seemed to be that the slightly lower ratios of the ca box suited his car better,suppose you could try either and see what ya prefer..they're both as shite as each other as far as strength goes!
