Schlabfest here I come!!! Gonna do some mega buns!!
Yeah a mighty days work , so must just book the test next.
Sound less like a tractor now with the new gaskets, the last fella to do it left a gap of around 1mm on one side between the manifold and turbo and all the nuts were so loose I could turn them off by hand even though there where locking tabs used!! I'd say he tried to do it on the car, which by my guess is near impossible !!!
Happy days too with the turbo, no play at all in the shaft and bone dry on both sides, so the t28 will have to wait till this one gives up the ghost!!
Nice one finally getting it clean enough for ya..
Did you get at the steering too?
No Ross, them nuts rattled loose. Even with the lockin tabs. Same happened mine. Best bet is to double nut the nuts on the manifold. No fear of them rattling free then. Them lockin tabs arent worth a fuck!
Lookin well tho. Can't wait to see it in person!
Never had a problem with locking tabs they always worked good for me.make sure the exhaust is mounted to the gearbox aswell that helps alot
Didn't bother with the steering in the end, it wasn't as bad as I thought in the end, gonna put it up for the test and see how it goes!!!
Jesus Steve I hope the bloody tabs work, coz the next time I wanna take all that out will be for a t28, they should work though, I have em well hammered in!!!!
Bolting it to the gear box is the right job actually, tweek, but the exhaust On it has no bracket for it, I'd say the long term plan will be a t28 with a flexi pipe on the down pipe, but this set up should do a while as there seems to be no play on the shaft and it's nice and dry!!
Gonna start gathering the bits now for it as they pop up!!
Must give a bit of time lining up the panels too as I only lashed them on yesterday
Car passed the dreaded NCT with flying colours and the good people at aviva only wanted an extra €100 more than the civic to insure it!!!! On the road as of now!!!
Saw you in Ballinacurra the other day in this, looked well, I think the 3 spoke wheels really suit it.
Great news with the nct. You get it for a full year?
Yeah Steve worked out at a year an a month!!! Timed it well!!!
Cheers Damien, the advans look cool from a distance but need a serious refurb!!! That's next on the list now
