    Default 2JZ S15 College project.

Hello there. This is NISMOylan's brother (Stephen). Might know me as SiR_ITR on other forums. Im a big drifting and Nissan fan but currently drive a DC2 Teg R so said I there is no point in me joining up.

Would just like to share this video. Its a rough prototype of a project I may be doing for college. Only had a few hours to shoot and edit. But I would just like to get as much feedback on the idea and get as many new and crazy ideas as possible!

    Thanks and enjoy.

The idea is that you would pilot the RC car with a Playstation wheel and pedals while being fed the first person view of a camera mounted on the car. Potentially with synthetic engine sounds and SFX. Car would be made robotic and controlled via Wi-Fi instead of Radio controlled.

And no its the CSIS building in UL.

That seems a pretty cool project.

Wifi will limit the range a bit 50-100 meters? But suppose there isn't much of an alternative, 868MHz would give range but the data rate would probably be too low for the video feed and 3G would probably have too much latency.

A flying version I m sure you would have seen

em...... are you sure thats done with that g25 wheel? i've been into rc drifting for god knows how many years and i only ever seen one guy do what your trying to do,and it certainly wasnt with a 200 euro wheel. (unless you have money to burn)
but i'd love to see how you managed to do it. (genuine interest)

To me it looks like its been faked but prove me wrong.

It has been faked man the wheel isnt connnected to anything its just edited to look like he's in control.

Looks like a serious bit of work hope it works out for ye! Im only around the corner from ul if ye want to test those bends in a real car :P

@Rob-Long: I seriously doubt il be using a g25 or g27 unless I am given one. But in theory it wouldn't make it more difficult to use a g25, just not needed. I have hacked a ps1, ps2 and ps3 controller in a program call "pure data" and although they become more complex they could all be programmed for basic functions.

But as said this is just a prototype video to gauge the interest in the idea and see is there any scope for improvement before I commit myself to doing it. Thanks for input.

@Grange: Not much since you seen it last man, he hasn't had much time. So doubt it will be out this season.
