    Default Starting off? advice

    Hows it going guys?
Im looking to start out doing proper drifting, Im thinking a 318is might be a start as they seem to be going cheap as road cars even at the moment! The car is one thing but what are the basic requirments needed to be alowed on the track ie. safety and all that? Ive done drifting before in a saloon 318 that just had a welded diff just on a slab at home and around the fields but wanna do it properly!! so any advice and tip would be welcome!
    Cheers

For drift fest I'm Pretty sure you need a harness. And you need a helmat. After that it's just tires and fuel.

Seems simple enough. I thought a cage bucket seats and maybe fire extinguisher would be the minimum!!

Try get your hands on a 325 if your going bmw route.

No matter what car you get, get a cage, bucket seat, harness, fire extinguisher and a helmet etc for your own sake !

Driftfest is only a pratice day so you don't need a cage, would recommend one tho.

to get some idea for the Driftfest requirements:

    1.no fluid leaks.
    2.suitable helmet with no damage.
3.battery has to be securely mounted in bay,any batteries in car have to be inclosed in a suitable battery box.
4.tow hooks front and back have to be present and clearly visible.
5.car must have working seatbelt or harness properly mounted and adjusted
    6.seat must be mounted securely
7.cars must have all wheel bolts/nuts present
8.cars must be in good mechanical condition breaks steering throttle all fully functional.

E36 will have too much grip for an iS engine to be honest unless its something really special (expensive) so best off getting a 325 or even better if you can find a cheap 328.

Good few lads at Superdrift today in 323s and were doing very well in fairness.
