driving your car to track days?

as the title says, just wondring how many of yas acutally drive to track days?
any pros,cons of doing it?
reason i ask is im all the way up in donegal and plan to do mondello and dont want to go to hassle of gettin a trailer then sumtin to tow it when my 180 is road legal.

The problem is if something happens you have no way of really getting it back

I drove down(30 mins) and went out on track. Big ends went and had to get it towed home

Drifting has a bigger chance of something going wrong(chassis or engine damage) do if advise a trailer

It also depends on how much you are going to push it really

Its never a good idea really.

Because even the simplist of problems can stop you from driving home, like losing a boost pipe.

What if it becomes illegal after a track day, how would you propose to get your car and you back to donegal?

Me and a few of the lads drove from cork to mondello before, another one drove his jeep with wheels and tools in it and we had no issues, then again another time my buddies s14s engine went and he had to get a recovery truck up from cork to take it home and cost him a small fortune! Has its pros and cons i suppose, its grand if everything goes right

Its absolutely no craic, did it once or twice and you can never give it 100% cuz your always afraid of breaking the car

yea i was kinda tinking it wasnt the best idea, just crap to see ur pride and joy up on a trailer like a drift mule wen she perfectly able to drive there, but yea if it did go tits up id b foookeed.

I dunno, I've done a few track days, drove there and back, my bro even drove his car to a Prodrift round but we only live 10 mins away so not as big a risk as Donegal! For piece of mind the trailer is great but if you drive your car daily I wouldn't reccomend a drift day anyway as there is a huge chance of damage/mechanical failure. Track days would be ideal. I know Si has driven to and from a few drift days however.

Ive driven from Killarney to WGH twice, drifted all day and drove home without any issues. But that could just be luck.

One small problem and your in trouble then...

I drives mine to track days but have had to drive home missing few panels a couple of times
