perfect cheers I'm getting a ecu off him anyways so sent him a message on fb earlier.
I was, and still am, pretty undecided what to do about the wiring of the S54 engine into the e36, really haven't the money to spend on a stand alone ECU, need those funds for other bits and pieces, so in the end I decided, seeing as I have the full E46 there, that I'd remove the full wiring loom from the car!
I knew it was going to be a big task but I'm glad I did it (I think). I'm hoping that once the full loom is stripped of the unneccesary bits that it will then make it much easier to get the new engine working right, well that's the idea at the minute.
A lot of hours were spent crawling around inside the e46 over the past week, labelling wires, tracing wires, unplugging, cursing, head scratching and nearly giving up
Finally I have the complete wiring unplugged along with the engine loom unplugged, I labelled all the important wires along with all the wires for the engine loom so fingers crossed it will all work out now.
I've also got the e36 pretty much prepped to get the engine out.
My humble little hayshed, open to the elements, stone floor with just a lino covering for a little bit of comfort
But it does the job.
I'll be bringing down the cars to McKeons Garage to remove the engines and box in a bit of comfort and with the right equipment.

nice progress. there a lot can be striped off the e46 harness seen it done a few time be surprised with how little you'll be left with
Fair play man thats one prick of a job but it should make life a lot easyer for refitting
This is going to be even more awesome with some M-power! Loved the little 328 that could though.
Quick question regarding your modded hubs you cut 25mm out an re-welded, did you change the ackerman angle?
<a href="http://mybannermaker.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/WkSH9O6.jpg" alt='Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!' border=0 /></a><br>
Yeah there's a hell of a lot to come off it alright, looking forward to seeing it all laid out on the ground!
Hopefully it will, it wasn't too bad once I got the motivation to do it.
Thanks lad.
Originally for a two years I just used hubs that were cut back the 25mm.
But earlier this year I sent hubs and wishbones to Paul McCarty to get them done properly on the jig he has set up. His set up sorts out the ackerman and has everything matching perfect. Really noticed the difference after getting it done.

Not a lot done since, hard to get time to work on it these days.
Last night i got the car down to McKeon's Garage and got the S54 engine and gearbox out along with all the other bits and pieces I need.
Also pulled out the wiring loom and laid it out. Close on 25kg of wiring. Hoping to use the e46 loom in the e36 to make things easier. It'll be stripped of all the shit and hopefully it works out.
New tyre size that I hope to be running next year; 245 17's beside the 195 50's I was using.
The search some additional sponsors for 2016 is on going, it's never an easy thing to do but fingers crossed one or two come on board for 2016.
Next step is to get the ECU and wiring sorted. Strip down the engine and replace a few parts for peace of mind.
