You cant weld the m3 lsd bud .

You can get another medium case open diff and weld it or like ive done is put in smaller shims and 2 extra friction plates , leaves it basiclly a 2way .

Open diff welded prob be the best job , your sure it will never one wheel with you then . And you can sell on your lsd .

Mine is a great job never one wheels but still prob will change to a open diff welded in the future for piece of mind .

One wheels due to friction plates in the LSD

They jus ware away and need replaced Not a big job
Ta get rebuilt deffo don't weld if it's a road car if
It a track only car get a diff from an e34 525 and weld

As said above, replace the plates and she will be tight again. Mick Barry has em very cheap.

6 plate clutch pack and 40% ramp thrust plate mod is what you need

The diffs are 2-way as standard, its just that they only have 25% lock and very low pre-load.

Ive seen people try to weld LSDs though
You can do it but you have to take it all apart so same work as rebuilding it... Iv seen one with just the holes for the oil filled up with oil and thrust plates welded in the open position!!!
