thats the back done, delighted with how low it is,and happy its done proper without cut springs etc....need to adjust the back shocks a bit harder but thats another evenings work...
also got around to gettin the engine and box outta the old sierra...
Theres 2 ways in taking an engine out
1) with an engine crane
2)without an engine crane...:P:P:P 2 cents to who guesses which way i did it....

ast nights efforts started with cleaning out the shed and making a bit more room to work on the car.....pulling out the green sierra was a nightmare with the welded diff!!!![]()
nearly toppled it over bout two seconds after this!!!

400 horses............. 1 jockey
yea frank. no safety around der. love it..![]()
How bad
Will ye be ready for D-rift Paul?
Will your cage be good enough for top 16 this time? After making top 16 last time it must have been a balls not to compete over the cage....
400 horses............. 1 jockey
i wouldnt quite call it balancing....the following moments were quite interesting!!!ha!!
hopefully anyway frank,so much to do like but feck it ,it'l be worth it!! oh god ya,full safety devices 6 pointer this time!!it was a sickener but on the other hand ii didnt even expect to qualify so was still happy out!!
Fitted one of those BOA engines to a sierra a few years ago. The sierra was running a vauxhall redtop on 45s, but we whipped that out and dropped in the valver! Conversion was dead simple, all hoses etc just worked out perfect. We had to convert a xr4x4 box to rwd, but other than that it was grand.
The boa is much easier to wire than the bob.
Best of luck with it, they sound fantastic!
@ jhinchy hopefully the wiring will go straight forward for me,the loom is stripped of whats not needed and everything labeled so fingers crossed, and i aint got no box issues as she's 12v v6 already so got the proper mt75!!cheers!!
got the 12v out last night, was a bit of a arse pain cause theres no lifting hooks and i lifted it all crooked bending one of the pressure plate forks in the process,ah well!! Think i found my shuddering/vibration problem too,2 bolts were bolting the gearbox to the engine, one of which was loose to the point that 2 turns with my hand brought it out....![]()

24v will hopefully be in by the weekend!
well tonight s progress was good, happy out,its full steam ahead now from here till sat week, hoping to have it out and ready for D-rift on saturday the 4th!!
Started this evening with ripping out the steel scuttle/bulkhead/heater fan panel as these always rot in sierras and excess weight!!
Its the black one at the top of the bulkhead
Out and chucked in the bin!!I forgot to take a pic with that and the heater fan out but it tidy's up the engine bay and awful lot and makes much more space!!
Thats with the heater fan out and the scaley rust bits and pieces still there from the panel...
Started ripping out the seats, dash and carpet...
and onto the sound deadening, this stuff was thick and seriously heavy,so more weight loss here...
Heater box out...
Dash out...
All sound deadening removed and loom clipped back in apart from the stuff glued to the floor but that can wait....
Got the clutch and flywheel off the 12V...was planning on lightening the fly but have decided against it as it looks to be extremely light as is so maybe has been done before??? i dunno....
Genuine ford clutch in good order so il leave it in for now!!
12V ecu loom....
24V loom to go in its place...
must make a plate to blank of the egr valve outlet....
started with a rough template that il make in work and finish it off when back at the car...
make it outta 5mm aluminium...
Handbrake and pipe, rear camber shims ready to be fitted...
these arrived from burton today too....
19mm grayston spacer kits with extended studs and scrutineers delight sticker sheet...il be binning the union jack, not to worry....
so tomorrow night s work will be making a start at the wiring and depending on how it goes have the engine in thurs or sat morning and running saturday....fingers crossed extremely tightly!!!
