    Talking gravity bleed?

    rite ive taken the mx5 off the road for the winter so i thought id do some bits to it wile i have the chance ive a compbrake hydro in atm but it could do with a bleed ive been told its needs to be gravity bled so can some1 shed some light on this for me please

    gravity bleedin is jus openin the nipples on the calipers an lettin the fluid flow out by itself!!

    better off doin it this way press pedal, open nipple, pull wand(wen the pedals still pressed)close nipple then release pedal and wand an repeat until you've good pressure in both

    i found this gave the best results to get the hydro handbrake to lock up.

    Gravity bleeding wont bleed the air trapped at the top of a cylinder or bend in a brake pipe so the only way to do it is by the pressure applied when pumping, holding and pushing through with the brake pedal!
