    Default Thermostat querie

    What are the disadvantages of running without a thermostat? Thinking of taking mine out

    you dont want to be doing that, it will take far too long for your car to heat up =bad because it will increase component wear significantly and bad for fuel consumption .

    why do you want to take it out is your car over heating, if so do you have coolant not water in your system,when was it last changed?
    is your thermostat jammed ?(to tast take it out and put into a bolling cup of water to see if it opens)

    it's a short term solution to a long term problem,

    The last day out in Ballbrigan, I pulled a thermostat from an sr after the rad got damaged, wanted the car to last another session, it heated up just sitting in the que so no more than 5 mins, (and blead the system properly)

    If it's a toyota don't take it out, they overheat at the best of times,

    I'll not bother then lol, the car was running about 90 degrees on after a couple of laps, just thought it might be an option I'll just upgrade the fans and vent more air into the engine bay, thanks for the help lads
