haha no bother lad im 15 myself dying to do something like thislove this build
I wasn't going to update this thread till it was finished, but its taken a lot longer than planned
So back to the painting, big task! Lets just say if your thinking of re-painting a car to the effort i went to, you'll know it won't be easy but its worse again
This is the first time the car would be all one colour in my time of ownership funny enough, i never wanted to paint it myself because I wanted it done right. I didn't want it like a black orange skin. Then again theres no fun in getting someone else to do it so for my own learning i decided to go ahead with doing it myself
Ill let the pictures do the talking
Home made meth lab/spray booth
All the wing bolts were gone shitty, so if it needs fixing, improve it
Moved the filler neck to inside the boot instead of making a the filler cap open and closeable
Decided to remove the hinges then *WARNING, DO NOT REMOVE BOOT HINGES WITHOUT A SECOND PAIR OF HANDS! I GOT AWAY JUST!*
Onto wet sanding. All done by hand but well worth it. Paintwork would have been fine as is but the difference after wet sanding was night and day!
Started off on any little blemishes with 1500 wet and dry on my finger
Then, get a block and sand it with 2000 wet and dry and make sure to have good coverage and even coverage everywhere!
Then after doing a panel or section at a time i.e roof, then wing, then door etc etc i got a lend of a buffer and buffed the hole car with Farecla G3 compound, thats just what i used.

I got some ebay mirrors, dtm style ones. 50 euros posted where could you go wrong, way better than the stock mirrors and since i got them i noticed that loads of people use them in motorsport on all sorts of cars! I like them! I got them painted and they look a treat! result!
I got some perspex and make up some light hole blanks for the bumper and wrapped them in carbon wrap, worked a treat also!
I also put in some aerocatches i bought a while ago and never fitted.
adding back on some bits, the ducting for the filter, and my front splitter/canards i had on before. I think they ad a bit of aggression to it.
And say hello to awful rear wheel fitment, that'll be sorted with soon don't ban me yet

So theres my update for now. Rear bumper is still under repair, even though i bought a ''new good quality bumper'' it ended up being the biggest piece of shit quality thing ever so the old bumper is under repair and ill mount the spoiler permanently soon too. When thats done i can start at removing the stuff from the garage that i had for prepping for paint, clear the shed and put the car in to get ready to drop the subframe and install my new parts and refine other suspension bits all round. So update to come soon about that. Ive some wheels i bought for it aswell, not giving them away just yet but my issue is there 17's so they probably will look too small under it. But it should look old school
Hope the update was worth the wait. Im over the moon with the paint finish, no way showroom but damn good in my eyes.
Credit to you Dude!!
Love this car!
