    Default sr20det coolant tempature?

right lads im stuck at this 1 im looking for some help and sugestion, dnt want any spam please and tanx.

the car has no has no rad coulen in it, or under body plastic or trays not many 180sx;s have them no a days but even before the coulen was taking out and replaced with electric fan it still ran hot

have a sr20det black top here 180sx, non vvt their is a defi gauge in the car and the sendor is in the top rad hose, thier is a 50mm alloy rad in it, the car tends to get hot when driving on the motor way etc, we say if going along at 120kmh the gauge will go away up to 100 degrees even with the electric fan on the whole time. the fan is a big enough fan on the rad., and then in and around the city its ok but it stays in and around 80 degrees..

so i took out the termostat as i thought it mite be wanked and filled it back up with coolant bleed it all out again and took it for a spin and its the same, so then took the rad out brought it up to get it flow tested and the lad came back said it was perfect no problem with it atal..

so now the car has no termostat in it, alloy rad flushed and flow tested all ok, and its still doing the same thing getting hot up to 100 degrees,

then if you turn the heating on hot and the fan on top speed the car will start to cool down again the standard gauge in the car dont move, thier is also a digital pivot water temp gauge in car and it reads the same as defi.. if you do any bit of sliding in the car the tempature will go over 100 degrees also,

just looking for sugestions or help on this 1 as i cant think of anymore.

i dnt think hg is in trouble as car dnt miss a beat and it starts 1st time in the mornings without any hesitation as if hg was gone i would think some cooland would leak into cylinder over night and b a shitty start in the morning.

and info will be appericated, cheers.

Measuring the temp in the top rad hose is not the right place at all. You need to measure it in the head where there is cooler coolant mixed from the bottom rad hose.

Dose the Nissan gage go up ?

no robbie the nissan gauge dnt go up atal. but the other 2 gauges go up, they both read the same temp and their both taking from dif parts of coolant temp gauge. i dnt know were the pivot digital gauge now is wired 2.

also noticed tonight the oil temp on the pivot gauge also get hot its up and around 120 degrees on open road we say at 12 - 140 kmh

Sounds like either your headgasket is gone, or your gauges are talking crap.

first off, the original gauge won't respond quick enough to go up, i had 107 degrees on mine (when she was overheating) and the needle didnt move an inch from a normal reading!

Change the position of your defi temp gauge and take it from there!

Would I be right in saying the single pin CTS (Number 15 in the pic) is for the gauge only? If so, would replacing that sensor with an aftermarket sensor and using an aftermarket gauge not make sense?

Been looking into this as I think my gauge is up the left too, but haven't got any aftermarket temp gauges at all to compare with. Temp was always perfect until I changed both CTS's in an effort to cure a flat spot, since then the temp has ran high, even after I've changed them both again! So was gonna get an adaptor (M12x1.25-1/8NPT) and run a generic temp gauge into the original location to see if its still running a bit hot. Hopefully not!!
