    Default help wireing a fuel pump

    might seem like a silly question to most of use but here goes i want to fit a fuel pump to a ae86 im building ive been told i need a fuse connector, and a toggle switch and a relay so can anyone tell me how to connect all this any help would be great thanks

    You need to hard wire it to a switch is it? Ull need a 12v realy and an inline fuse. On the relay number 85 is earth, 87 goes to the pump, 30 goes to positive on the batery. (Youd be aswel with the inline fuse on this wire.) And 86 goes to the switch. Bobs your uncle. Hope that helps.

    why would you need a fuse?

    Its just safer. If anything goes wrong itll blow the fuse. Otherwise you have a permanent live all the time. If it shorted out it could go boom.

    Or cause your car to go up in flames.
    Why are you using a switch?why not use the 12v that the ignition supplies for the fuel pump as a switch wire?
