The soft and hard spring should make a difference, if you make it harder it should improve things for you some bit, but I don't think it will fix it completely. you should tighten it until you get the "pidgeon" sound at low boost and see does that make it any better.

If it was the dump valve and you checked for boost/air leaks you would hear air escaping out through the dump valve (I am assuming you pressurised the pipe work to check for leaks not just by looking at the joints and couplers)

*cough jdm garage* Im joking sorry, I removed my dump valve ages ago, simply just replaced it with a new bit if pipe work, 10 minutes. I have some handy here aswell if your looking for some? Could do it tomorrow if you wanted even

i had the same issue, its can be a combination of different things but as robbie said dump valve, can you take it off and run no dump valve to check?

when my car had fmic, dump valve, recirc valve removed, s15 turbo it would do same, there are a couple of things that will sort it. i used an hks idol stabliser which does what it says and i also used a couple of wee tricks with my intake piping. im not using the idol stabliser anymore so could sell it if you were interested.

edit: should really have read page 2 also lol, i see people are suggesting that the dumpvalve is leaking or spring is too soft? thats not causing it, its the fact that the air is being dumped when you lift off, air that has been metered by the afm that does then not make it into the engine causing it.

i also see connor has said an hks eids controler will sort it, thats the idol stabliser i was talking about, i have one for sale pm me.

i installed a hks ssqv and it fixed the problem so im sorted for this. it can be locked up. thanks for the replys
