    well lads what 1j engine would be the best to go for vvti or non vvti and why lads?

    what are you goin using it for

    personally is say non vvt just for the availibility of second hand parts cams, manifolds

    if its for a conversion you will prob want the jzx90 engine with the front sump these are non vvt also

    it would be a conversion for track. the vvti camshafts are very exspensive

    conversion into what car?? front sump engines are generally more desireable as it suits s body conversions ect as the sump sits in front of the rack, a mid or rear sump would be ontop of the rack and would nt work too well or at all

    vvt gear is generally harder got and more expensive. plus if you ever come to brake your car your selling to a smaller audience.... although jzx100's are starting to become more common

    id say non vvti lad as thats what i have and i can find any parts i need within a day or two as for the vvti if you where putting it in your daly driver that would be the one to go for but a track car parts are serious money

    Go with the vvti engine far better than the older 1jz
