For the last 3 months Ive been at a dead end due to the smallest thing, Been sorted in the next few days hopefully, Its a minor clutch problem, The box is a pull type and the ACT clutch I got is push type the 2 dont go together without the right bits, everything else is mounted/mocked in its final place this is the only hiccup, only thing thats left is to get FMIC kit and full exhaust made up which can be done straight away after this then just wire and map, so close but still another bit to go,

Small update, no real progress made but were starting to get places,

The gearbox problem has finally been answered, All along I had a W58 box here that came with the engine, The W58 and R154 look very similar so obviosuly I couldnt tell the difference, I went off and spent a good bit of cash on ACT clutch and flywheel, After putting the lot together its obvious an R154 pull clutch isnt going to work in a push W58 box so after lots and lots of head scratching (3months to be exact lol) we indentified the box as a W58, , Christy has been very helpful and I dont think its his fault we all came to the conclusion the R154 must have blown in Japan and maybe just needed a replacement quickly and they had all the W58 stuff on the shelf or something and just put that in,

Anyway, where I am at now is, Christy can get me a R154 but it has the wrong bellhousing, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A 1JZ BELLHOUSING ANYWHERE????

Another option I have is which I'm reluctant to do but would atleast get the car moving, I could get a W58 clutch set up and run that box for a while but thats more expense (buying a clutch flywheel etc) and still end up with a weaker box, It is an option though as I really want to get this car on the road ASAP would love to have it for the xmas hols,

So if anyone can help me out on the above please get in touch, the main thing is now we know whats wrong and how to fix it.

They are as rare as hens teeth those bellhousings I think there was a crowd in Taiwan or tailand making copies but from what I've heard if you buy from Toyota Uk and get the vat off it works out about the same price circa 300gbp maybe a bit less it awhile now since I checked it out.give me a ring about it if you want jay.
