    Default Southern style s13 build

not a huge project but thought id keep you up to date with my current 13.

after spending the last couple years constantly buying shit i cant afford, then running out of cash and having to break it, i thought id go back to the beggining and just make a basic spec s13 for pissing about in.

picked it up couple weeks ago, wasnt much to look at but had most of the important bits, all bushes done, hsd coilovers and a rebuilt ca18 by a reputable company, not just in a shed.

    looked like this:

came from the sxoc, so was very well looked after but not quite to my taste.

so first things, fitted a preface splitter, got hold of some rota grids and spacers, bolted them on and stuck it on its arse:

however looking at it, the facelift bumper with preface splitter just sat too low, as i live in one bumpy ass area, and lets face it 99 percent of people just think your bellend if your scraping down the road. so swapped it for a preface front bumper and splitter:

still plenty low, but just that little bit of difference. as it goes doesnt catch on much at all now.

then fitted grids to the rear and dropped it down to height, with the help of the fatman we rolled the arches out with a bar to good standard:

also fitted my old bootlid with wangan and roof lip spoiler, some skirts and threw some lexus lights on after tinting them red and painting the centre panel black:

then fitted washer spacers, tein rods and ends and driftworks tension rods for a bit more lock, as you can see, a lot more lock for literaly pennies, why people are spending thousands for only a tiny bit more than this, i still dont get!:

bought a 180 rear bumper, spats and centre piece, which is yet to arrive so in the meantime pinched dans 180 rear bumper, and fitted some kouki rear lights i bought:

then spent the evening trimming the standard interior panels in bride fabric:

fitted them, a bride drivers bucket, white steering wheel, gknob, trs harnesses, full set of greddy gauges, white clocks, aristo floor mats, snap off hub, touch screen headunit and even a sub in the boot! (maybe a bit chav, but i like my music, and the rest of the car is running full interior):

also have a mint recaro for pass side but waiting on subframe to arrive, as well as a 180sx rear bench:

    spec list:
ca18, full rebuild with everything replaced
    t28 turbo

then took it for its first outing to essex arena, it drove pretty good, though clutch slipping a bit when the track dried out so thats going to have to be done. few pics:

managed to rub the wall a few times, pretty happy with:

got through to the top 8, though stupidly spun at the end of the lap, nevermind!

however rather unfortunatly during qualifying a little isuzi piazza thing spun in front of me, my fault i guess for being too close but had nowhere to go but into the side of it. fucking thing didnt have a scratch on it, s13 on the otherhand door and rear quarter went in like cheese!:

not going to cry about it, its a drift car and i drive it like a flange, it will no doubt get more of the same.

so today took off fucked door and replaced with a new one:

luckily the sill looks straight enough

rear quarter, not sure best was of getting dent out, someone suggested a plumbers air bag down the side might straighten it out, if not just have to hammer it out.

so thats where i at for now

    future plans:
alignment as is currently setup for grip
    wind deflectors
    gandor mirrors
fit rear spats and centre piece
fit recaro passenger and 180 rear seats
fit dash dodger cage (as its a daily and dont want anything thatll hinder getting in and out
    new clutch
get dan to modifying the exhaust as the rear section is too low and despite raising as high as possiby its already ripped to shreds from scraping the floor
possibly look at checking actuator as does feel a bit laggy for some reason

and eventually itll be painted purple.
possibly a 180sx type x front bumper soon as well, as reckon thatd finish it off nicely

That is a really cool project! I like the low on the facelift bumper with splitter but sometimes I guess it pays to take the common sense route
Did it take you long to do the bride fabric?

Why people stick kits on and then try make it look good?
Wheels, low, or even just fill the arches!

Seen bits and pieces of everything you get into man, and if only I had a few quid to splash I'd have something with similar vibes to your stuff above.

    Just keep at it man!

You just manage to hoard the Wangan willy duck tail or did you buy it new?
Many spacers did you place on the rods? (under the boot where the road screws in yea?)
